Davies' performance as Corporal Upham, the interpreter, in Steven Spielberg's Saving Private Ryan opposite Tom Hanks also brought him considerable acclaim. Davies played the lead role in Wim Wenders' Million Dollar Hotel which world premiered at the Berlin Film Festival, winning the Silver Bear. His recent films include Alan Rudolph's Investigating Sex, Roman Coppola's CQ, 29 Palms with Michael Rapaport, Bill Pullman and Chris O'Donnell, and The Laramie Project with Christina Ricci and James Buscemi. Davies will also be in Wim Wenders' next project, which Wenders is currently writing with Sam Shepard. His other credits include Up in the Villa with Sean Penn, The Locusts with Vince Vaughn and Ashley Judd, Nell with Jodie Foster, Jan De Bont's Twister and Tamra Davis' Guncrazy with Drew Barrymore.
